Salem Hospital
Samantha Burton, PA-C
Samantha was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She studied and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas State University before completing their Physician Assistant education at UTMB in Galveston. Her passion for emergency medicine first began during their time as an ER scribe, where they developed a deep appreciation for the fast-paced and impactful nature of the field. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys hiking, camping with their dogs, tasting great coffee, reading, and crafting. She is looking forward to exploring everything that the PNW has to offer.
Ryan Esparza, PA-C
Ryan grew up in Southern California and attended Azusa Pacific University where he met his now wife and completed his bachelor’s in Applied Health. After gaining experience as an EMT in a pediatric emergency department, he moved to North Carolina for PA school. Three years, one wedding, and two dogs later he has returned to the west coast to pursue a new career, and new adventures in the PNW. He enjoys frequent visits to the dog park, fishing, sporting clays, good music, and football (soccer).
Ayslinn Grantham-Eads, FNP
Ayslinn is a recent transplant to Salem, OR. Native to Southern California’s sunny beaches, she nevertheless loves rain and cloudy weather- a perfect fit for the PNW. She started in the ICU as an RN and moved on to complete her FNP through Indiana State University. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in nephrology and emergency services. When not working, she loves hiking, backpacking, and spending time with her family, kids, and dogs.
Tim Hall, PA-C
Tim received his physician assistant training at Charles Drew University and Martin Luther King Jr. hospital in south central Los Angeles. He moved to southern Oregon in 2000. He worked in physical medicine and rehabilitation for several years. In addition to full-time practice, he took on roles in orthopedic and neurosurgery. He then transitioned to full-time work with a busy neurosurgical practice at a level II trauma center. He has been an avid outdoorsman having hiked, climbed and fished throughout the Sierras and elsewhere.
Alexander Nelson, PA-C
Alex was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. After graduating from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, he spent a year gaining experience as a Scribe in Salem Health’s ED. He then moved to Washington, DC with his wife to attend George Washington University where he graduated with the Academic Excellence Award. He spent the last year practicing medicine in McKenzie-Willamette’s ED. Alex loves serving the community that he grew up in. During his free time, he loves playing sports, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with his wife and baby girl.
Nathan Quinley, PA-C
Nathan was born in Jamaica and raised in the Philippines. He attended University in Australia and the USA. During his time at University, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). After graduating from the University of South Alabama with a Master’s degree in Health Science, he worked at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina gaining experience in Craniomaxillofacial trauma. During his free time, Nathan enjoys hiking, surfing, kiteboarding, and spending time with his family.
Madison Stone, PA-C
Madison Stone was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. She earned her bachelor’s degree in BioHealth Sciences from Oregon State University. Following graduation, Madison worked for several years as a medical scribe in Salem Health’s Emergency Department. She attended Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona where she received her Master’s in Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. She is excited to be back in the PNW serving patients in the community she grew up in. When not working she visits with friends and family, travels, and on rainy days can be found assembling jigsaw puzzles.
Autumn Thompson, PA-C
Autumn was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University where she completed her bachelor’s in biochemistry and master’s in bioethics. Autumn then moved to Charleston, SC to attend the Medical University of South Carolina where she graduated with her master’s in physician assistant studies. She is thrilled to start her next chapter here in the beautiful PNW. When not working, she enjoys baking, hiking, and cheering on the Buckeyes with her family.
Taylor Worth, PA-C
Taylor was born and raised in Maple Valley, Washington. They graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and discovered their passion for emergency medicine while working as an ER tech in Glendale, Arizona. Taylor attended Pacific University’s School of PA Studies and is thrilled to call the Pacific Northwest their home again. In their free time, Taylor balances rock climbing and camping adventures with a grandma lifestyle of going to bed early, spending time with their cat and partner, and practicing fiber arts.
West Valley Hospital
Michelle Jones, PA-C
Michelle grew up in rural Minnesota and got her nursing license in southwest Minnesota. She and her family moved to Arizona to complete her master’s degree. From there she started in Primary Care for four years. Since that time, she has been caring for patients in Urgent and Emergency Care. When not taking care of patients she enjoys travel, music and camping.
Allison Journey, PA-C
A native of Oregon, Allison graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While completing her undergraduate studies, she worked in EMS, which deepened her commitment to patient care and emergency medicine. She went on to earn a master’s in physician assistant studies from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts. She has a strong passion for wilderness medicine and holds an Advanced Wilderness Life Support certification. In addition, she has specialized training in child abuse and is a Sexual Assault Examiner. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, car racing, and kayaking.
